Oh, that's heavy.

In our animation practice lectures this week we were asked to animate a little fellow picking up a heavy object. Here is my big nosed fellow doing this.
I'm not satisfied with the begining but this is only a work in progress. I'll get there.

Semester 2 - Sea Test

Hello world, we have just returned to proper lectures after our deadlines from before Christmas and here is the result of one of our latest tasks. We are yet to be completely briefed but our next project is mainly based around the sea. (Don't quote me, but i think this might have something to do with the fact we live in Cornwall...) We were asked to create a small test animation of the sea in a way we wanted. I chose to have a whack at flash because it's the program i have undoubtedly spent the least time on. So here is my first real animation on flash. I present to you, a crashing wave.

A flash-y endeavor.

First ever touch of flash - I quite liked the program to be honest, i obviously didn't use it to all that it is capable of but feel that prolongnig i was in the right mood and right setting i could spend a lot of time on here getting very particular about how things looked. It's something i will certainly use more often!

Space Cow.

Today i had a lovely workshop on Adobe After Effects, with the footage we were given to use this is what i created, I personally think its a serious matter that should be addressed.

Pirate Anamatic!

Once we had story boarded out script (See below post) we had to make it into an anamatic which would better portray the mood and the rhythm of the animation. It gave a much better idea of timing and transfers from scene to scene. I really enjoyed creating this even if Premeire did give me a small heart attack. (Thank you auto save.) After a slighty flustered retrieval i finished it off with a little bit of over dramatic music, that i understand...

Pirate story board!

We were given 3 scripts to choose from to storyboard, a scene from Nightrider, One about a badger and a zoo, and lastly some Pirates I chose the Pirates because i thought they were the most fun, needless to say it is perhaps easier to draw a car over and over again than it is a group of pirates but hey, lifes not always about the easy choices, right guys... Anyways! Here is my finised story board acompanied by the original script.

deck. The crew are crying out and running to their action stations.
The ship is lifted high on a wave and plunges down into the trough. Waves crash over the deck and wash into the hold where treasure is piled up.
The Captain comes running out of his quarters and drags himself up the stairs to the upper deck and the steering wheel. Rain pelting down, high waves looming on all sides and the ship rocking violently.
CAPTAIN (shouting)
All hands ahoy! Square the main sail! Lower the riggin! (He wrestles with the wheel) Swing us through, lads or we’ll all be sleeping on the sea bed with the fishes tonight, so we will!
SAILOR’S VOICES
- The ship’s too heavy in the water, Cap’n!
- She’ll never make it to port!

The ship starts to turn but as it does so a huge wave hits it side on. It begins to keel over and is lost to sight behind the mountainous waves.
